Lowry, Jr. (William Burr², John¹) was born Bet. 1770 - 1775 in Caroline County, Virginia, and died 1843 in Lowry, Bedford County, Va..  He married Nancy Hoard December 26, 1796 in Bedford County, Virginia, daughter of William Hoard and Mary Thorpe.  She was born 1778 in Bedford County, Virginia.

William Burr Lowry, Jr., was born around 1775 to William B. Lowry, Sr.,  and Elizabeth Pullen Lowry of Lunenburg County, Virginia.  His father William was the first of that name to settle in this part of the state.  William Burr Lowry, Jr., donated the land where Timber Ridge Baptist Church was built in 1805, and the church took the name of his home place in honor of him.  He was also the first to start a Sunday school at Timber Ridge which began in 1855.
